29 killed, 42 injured in three suicide blasts in Baquba (Iraq)

In Iraq, at least 29 people have been killed and 42 injured in three coordinated bomb blasts by suicide bombers. The blasts targeted two police stations and a hospital in the capital of Diyala province, Baquba today.<br/> <br/>According to security official Captain Ghalib al-Karkhi the bombings in the Baquba targeted the provincial headquarters, the Iraqi army and a hospital. The attacks come during run-up to a parliamentary election scheduled to be held on Sunday.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent Dushyanat Ojha reports from Dubai that it was the deadliest attack in Iraq in a month which has come despite heightened security across the country ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on 7th of this month. The insurgent groups have threatened to disrupt the election by military means.<br/><br/>The bombers targeted police establishments as the first bomb went off targeting the office of the National Reform bloc, while the second exploded near the emergency police’s building and the third inside the Baaquba public hospital targeting the chief of police, while he was calling on the wounded people. A curfew has been imposed immediately after the blasts.<br/>
