Twenty Nine child labourers between the age group of 9 to 18 years were rescued from Sadar Bazar area in the national capital. They were working in a hazardous factory located in that area. During the operation, five alleged employers were also arrested by the Delhi Police after a complaint was filed by NGO Bachpan Bachao Aandolan (BBA). The Labour Department has issued notices to the employers to pay 20,000 rupees in the name of the rescued children, to be deposited under the Child Welfare Fund. According to the official, proper action will be taken against the employers and arrangements will be made for rehabilitation and education of the children rescued.
