A total of 286 developmental projects in various sectors including construction projects are awaiting environmental clearance. Giving this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, the Environment Minister, Mr Jairam Ramesh said 34 projects in Orissa are pending for environmental clearance, followed by 31 in Gujarat and 29 in Rajasthan.
