28 Indian fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy in two separate incidents last night. According to Sri Lanka Navy spokesman, 3 small Indian fishing boats and 23 fishermen from Rameshwaram were caught late last night in the seas south of Mannar. They have been brought to Mannar and handed over to the police for legal action.<br/><br/>In another incident, one fishing trawler and 5 fishermen were arrested near Delft Island early this morning. They have been brought to the Kankesanthurai harbor and handed over to Jaffna Department of Fisheries. They will be produced before the Magistrate's court tomorrow.<br/><br/>With these latest arrests, the number of Indian fishermen in Sri Lankan custody has risen to 96 and Indian fishing boats to 89.<br/><br/>
