Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry has announced to give 27 percent reservation to Other Backward Cast, OBC, candidates in the allotment of dealerships of Petrol Pump. In a statement issued in New Delhi today said that the selection process of Petrol Pump dealership has been revised and the major changes pertain to application of the reservation policy as per constitutional provisions.

The ministry said with a view to improve transparency and remove discretion in the selection process, the allotment of Petrol Pum dealership will now be made by draw of lots. It said these changes are expected to make the retail outlet allotment in tune with social objectives and higher standards of transparency.
