In Bihar, 27 people were drowned and 20 are missing in two separate incidents of boat capsizing in Khagaria and Darbhanga districts. An over crowded boat capsized in swolen river Baghmati in which at least 40 people are feared drown. This tragedy occured at Phulthora Ghat near Alauli under Khagaria district. District Magistrate, Abhay Kumar Singh said 19 bodies have been fished out so far. 20 passengers swam to safety. Search operation is on to locate the missing bodies. Over 60 passengers on the boat were returning to their native village after participating in the celebrations marking the end of Durga Puja. A high level team lead by State Distater Minister, Devesh Chandra Thakur has arrived in Khagaria to supervise the rescue operation.<br/>In another mishap 8 people were drowned in a lake at Kusheswer Sthan in Darbhanga district when a boat capsized due to storm and heavy rain fall. The incident occured when the people were returning after immersing the idol of Godess Durga. Altogether, 17 people were on boat. 8 swam to safety. Search is on to locate more bodies. <br/>Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar has announced an exgratia of 1,50,000 rupees each to the next of kin of the deceased.<br/>
