26th North East Games to be held at Aizawl tomorrow

The stage is almost set for the 26th North East Games to be held at Aizawl from tomorrow. Workers were making last-minute dash to prepare the ground for the four-day mega event at the main venue Rajiv Gandhi Sports Stadium on Monday.An official statement said that workers are giving finishing touches in some of the venues and will hopefully ready them for the Games to be started from tomorrow. Except for the main venue Rajiv Gandhi Sports Stadium and second largest venue Assam Rifles Ground, all the venues have been readied for the Games. The organising committee has made elaborate arrangements to ensure best possible facilities for the players and other visitors.A total of 1258 delegates, including sportspersons and officials are expected to take part in the mega sportsevent. They will compete in athletics, badminton, boxing, football, hockey, judo table tennis, taekwondo,volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling.
