Mizoram topped the medals tally in the 26th Northeast Games 2012 which concluded today in Aizwal. It won 59 gold, 24 silver and 23 bronze medals and 77 points. Manipur finished second with 29 gold, 26 silver and 25 bronze medals and 47 points while Assam finished third with eight gold, 22 silver and 32 bronze medals and 38 points. Tripura occupied fourth position with 15 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze medals but with 27 points. In major finals played today, Mizoram won the Men's football gold by beating Tripura 10-2. Women's football gold was won by Manipur, who defeated Tripura 4-0. In 100 metres men's and women's sprint, the gold medals were won by Tripura, while 5000 metres men's and women's gold medals went to Nagaland.
