As many as 267 police stations in the country are functioning without telephone while 273 don't have vehicle. <br/><br/>In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Home, Hansraj Ahir quoting Bureau of Police Research and Development report, said there are 129 police stations in the country which don't have VHF sets and wireless facilities. <br/><br/>The Minister, however, said the proper infrastructural facilities in the police stations lies with the state government as police is a state subject. <br/><br/>He said the states under the Modernization of State Police Forces schemes are supplemented by the Central government. <br/><br/>
