A total of 262 personnel of the Border Security Force committed suicide in the last eight years. Giving this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Jitendra Singh said domestic and personal problems are the main causative factors.
The Minister said a Committee of Experts, constituted by the Bureau of Police Research and Development, has made 48 recommendations for remedial measures.
