In Pakistan, at least 26 security personnel were killed in a militant attack on several army posts in the Chitral area of North-West Pakistan. Those killed include Pakistani soldiers and police. The attacks were carried out by more than a hundred militants from neighbouring Afghanistan.The officials said this is one of the biggest attacks launched from eastern Afghanistan where the US has mostly pulled out its troops. Local media reported a large number of militants had launched pre-dawn attacks on several posts with rockets and heavy weapons. The attack prompted clashes between the Pakistani border troops and the militants.
