There are 26 Sainik Schools covering 22 states in the country and the remaining 7 states have been requested to indicate their requirement for establishment of Sainik Schools in their states.<br/><br/>Replying to supplementaries in the Lok Sabha, today Minister of State for Defence Subhash Ramrao Bhamre said at present 21 proposals for establishing Sainik Schools from various states and Union Territories have been received.<br/><br/>The Minister said the performance of the Sainik Schools are monitored on different parameters like Class 10 and Class 12 results, number of cadets selected in NDA and training facility of the members. He said the financial allocation to Sainik Schools by Defence Ministry during 2017-18 was 80 crore rupees.
