26/11 prosecution winds up examination of witnesses

The first phase of the Mumbai terror attack trial ended on Wednesday as the prosecution completed recording of evidence of the last two witnesses.<br/><br/>Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said that the court will record statement of the prime accused, Pakistani national Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab on 18th December.<br/><br/>The 26/11 trial started in April this year and the prosecution has completed the recording of evidence of over 610 witnesses till date.<br/><br/>Mr. Nikam further added that though prosecution closed formally; but informed the Court that it may reapproach the court for seeking information about David Headley and Tahawwur Rana and their involvement in the 26/11 attacks.<br/><br/>Earlier in the court Kasab told the special court that he is physically and mentally fit to give his statement.
