26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed under house arrest

In Pakistan, the Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attacks, has been placed under house arrest in Lahore. Media reports claimed he has been placed under house arrest. A senior police official however said only restrictions have been put on Saeed's movement and that he has been barred from leading the Eid prayers at the Gaddafi Cricket Stadium in Lahore. Pakistan's Geo News reports, Saeed has been put under house arrest and the Police has been deputed outside his residence restricting his movement. A police contingent was deployed outside Saeed's home in Johar Town area of Lahore late last night to restrict his movements. Some of the TV news channels reported that Saeed's movements had been restricted for reasons of security. There was no official word on the issue yet. Saeed, also the founder of the Lashker-e-Taiba, was expected to lead the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the Gaddafi Stadium.<br/><br/>New Delhi has been insisting that Pakistan should take action against Saeed for his role in masterminding the Mumbai terror attacks, but Islamabad had claimed that the evidence provided by New Delhi was inadequate to prosecute him.
