26/11 culprits trail adjourned for a week in Pak

The trial of seven Pakistanis charged with involvement in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, was on Saturday adjourned for a week after one of the key accused and Lashkar-e-Taiba Commander, Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, filed a petition against the Judge of an anti-terrorism court.PTI reports that during a hearing held behind closed doors in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, Lakhvi's lawyers submitted the petition in which he expressed dissatisfaction with Judge Shahid Rafique.Lakhvi alleged that the Judge was working under the influence of Pakistan's Interior Ministry, the Prosecution and the Indian government. Lakhvi asked for the Judge to be changed, claiming he could not expect justice from him. Three prosecution witnesses were expected to testify on Saturday. There were no proceedings after the petition was filed and the Judge adjourned the case till the 17th of this month.Seven Pakistani suspects, including Lakhvi, have been accused of planning, facilitating and financing the Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people on 26th November 2008.
