<span style="color: #222222;">Theatre Literacy, academic discussion and citizen participation will be high on the agenda of the 25th International Theatre Festival-‘Bharat Rang Mahotsav’ organized by National Schoolof Drama (NSD). The 21-day festival beginning from the 1st of February will witness over 150 plays to be staged across the country. The festival will be inaugurated in Mumbai and the closing ceremony will be held in Delhi. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Saturday (27th January 2024) , NSD Director, Chittaranjan Tripathy said that the theme of the festival is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- Vande Bharangam. He said the festival aims to bring the world together through the art of theatre. Mr Tripathy further added that noted actor and NSD Alumnus Pankaj Tripathi will be the festival ambassador. Hailing the scale of the festival, he said that this year the festival will be spread over 15 states at many locations including Bhuj, Vijayawada, Jodhpur, Patna, Benarasand Bengaluru. Chairperson of NSD, Paresh Rawal called upon people to join the festival and appreciate the art of theatre.<br />”<br />”Various language-based plays including Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Dogri, Maithali, Marathi and Gujarati will be a part of the festival. International plays from Russia, Spain, Italy, Bangladesh and Nepal have also been selected to be staged. Masterclasses, Rang Haat, national and international seminars, Meet the Directors and youth forums will be some of the key attractions at the festival.
