250 start-ups set up in Goa in a span of 4 months

In Goa, about 250 startups have been set up within a short span of about 4 months. The way the idea of opening a startup has taken roots among the talented technical youth in the state, Goa will soon become the hub of innovation. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent's report:- <br/>"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the "Start-up India" initiative. The objective of the startup India scheme is to make India a nation of job creators instead of job seekers. Startups usher in a culture of innovation in the country. Goa Government launched its Information Technology policy in 2015 and the government of India established incubators. There are two incubators in Goa today. <br/><br/>Centre for Incubation and Business acceleration— CIBA– set up by the Department of Science and Technology and Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Goa. D. S. Prashant, General Manager of CIBA told AIR that most of the two hundred fifty startups in Goa today are based on Information technology, Internet of Things, electronic manufacturing and food processing."<br/>A novel idea of renting out battery operated electrical bicycles to domestic and foreign tourist cyclists throughout Goa is at the heart of the upcoming startup Cyclingzens. Presently it has 3 outlets and aims at establishing 50 franchises all over coastal and western ghat parts of Goa enjoyed by cyclists.<br/><br/>Young talent is attracted towards Goa was evident in the two competitions recently held. About 650 participated in Kaun banega Udyogpati and 35 in the Chief Minister's startup competition held recently by the Economic Development Corporation of Goa."
