25% voting recorded in polling to 14 LS seats in UP

In Uttar Pradesh about 25 percent voting has taken place during first four hours in all 14 constituencies till 11 AM. Maximum 32 percent polling is reported from Dhaurahara constituency and minimum about 21 percent in Raebareli constituency.

AIR correspondent reports that polling is going on under tight security in a peaceful manner. Reports have been received about malfunctioning of EVM from several constituencies and voting was disrupted due to it for some time. In some constituencies including Mishrikh and Dhaurahara, voters in a few villages have also boycotted polling.

In Raebareli constituency 16 polling stations have been identified as model polling stations and of them cover from hot sun has been provided at only three polling stations.

Above 30 percent voting is reported from Jhansi constituency followed by 27 percent in Sitapur, 26 percent in Barabanki, above 25 percent each in Banda and Fatehpur constituencies, above 24 percent in Kanpur, above 23 percent in Mishrikh and Lucknow, above 22 percent in Unnao, and Jalaun and above 21 percent polling has taken place in Mohanlalganj constituency.

Our correspondent reports that by and large voter turnout is encouraging in spite of scorching heat.
