25 people feared killed in train accident at Sant Kabirnagar district in UP

Around 25 people are feared killed as Goraknath Express going from Delhi to Gorakhpur, rammed into a stationary freight train at Chureb railway station near Khalilabad in Sant Kabirnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, around 10 in the morning today.

Six coaches have been damaged in which several passengers were also injured. Unconfirmed reports said that around twenty persons were brought out dead from the damaged coaches, however, the authorities have not confirmed the number of deceased persons.

Talking to AIR, Chief PRO of North Eastern Railway, said that four general coaches, one SLR and one AC coach has been damaged in the accident.

He said that a medical team has reached the spot and the relief and rescue operation is on. The down track of this rail section is obstructed because of the accident.
