25 people feared drowned in Bihar

In Bihar, at least 25 people are feared drowned this afternoon when a boat capsized in mid stream the river Punpun in Naubatpur area under Pipra police station in Patna district. Director General of Police Neelmani told that 12 bodies including two women and one child have so far been fished out. Six persons were rescued. Search operation is on to locate the missing bodies. The ill-fated country boat was carrying villagers who were going for Dushera Mela celebrations. Meanwhile the state government has announced an exgratia payment of one lakh of rupees each to the next of the kin of the deceased.
