25 paise coins cease to be legal tender

Twenty five paise coins cease to be legal tender from Thursday. The Reserve Bank of India had earlier said coins of the denomination of 25 paise and below will cease to be legal tender from June 30th. RBI said the coins will not be accepted for exchange at bank branches from July 1st 2011 onwards. AIR correspondent reports, coins of one paisa, two, three and five paise denominations have already been demonetised.
