25% of Domestic Capital Procurement and Acquisition Budget amounting to over Rs 21,000 cr will be earmarked for domestic private industries: Defence Ministry

Defence Ministry has decided that 25 per cent of Domestic Capital Procurement and Acquisition Budget amounting to over 21,000 crore rupees will be earmarked for domestic private industries in the current financial year. The Ministry said, it has also been decided that 1500 crore rupees will be earmarked for procurement from Start-ups including iDEX Start-up to foster innovation and encourage technology development in defence sector. These steps will foster the growth of private industry, MSMEs and start-ups in defence ecosystem.<br />''          <br />''<br />''Earlier, Ministry had decided to earmark 68 per cent of capital procurement budget for the entire domestic industry during financial year 2022-23. Accordingly, over 84 thousand crore rupees was allocated specifically for domestic defence industry in current financial year.<br />
