25 killed, 68 injured in Iraq blasts

At least 25 people have been killed and 68 others injured in two bomb blasts on Monday. Iraq news agency quoting police sources has said that Karbala city witnessed two booby-trapped car blasts, the first in the east of the city and the second in Ibrahimiya district, some 5 km to the east of the city. 18 people were killed and 50 other injured in the first blast that targeted Shia pilgrims East of Karbala. Seven people killed and 18 others wounded in the second blast, which also targeted Pilgrims. In this incident the explosive device was planted on the road nearly 5 kilometer east of the city of Karbala. Security forces rushed to the scenes and evacuated the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment, while the area has been cordoned off.
