25-30% voting in UP to 14 LS seats

In Uttar Pradesh, about 25 to 30 percent voting has taken place during first five hours in the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Maximum 40 percent polling was reported from Sitapur constituency.

Samajwadi Party MLA Rampal Yadav has allegedly slapped a CRPF constable on poll duty in Biswan of Sitapur. Sources say that the poll observer has ordered to lodge an FIR.

AIR correspondent reports that polling is going on under tight security in a peaceful manner in Lucknow and all the other 13 Lok Sabha constituencies. Governor BL Joshi, BSP supremo Mayawati, BJP's Rajnath Singh and Rita Bahuguna Joshi of Congress have cast their votes in Lucknow. The weather is a bit less harsh today in Lucknow as it is cloudy and less scorching.
