In Kerala, 24 people died when a boat belonging to the Kerala State Tourism Development Corporation carrying tourists capsized at Thekkady lake in Idukki district this evening. Forest Department official said 20 tourists have been rescued and brought ashore. 15 people have been admitted to the hospital. Official sources said that the death toll is likely to go up. The Indian Navy has despatched a team comprising 14 naval personnel to Thekkady. State Ministers Mr.Kodeyeri Balakrishnan Mr. N. K. Premchandran and Mr.K.P.Rajendran have rushed to the spot.
