In Assam, security across the Dima Hasao Hill District has been beefed-up following a 24-hour bandh from 5 this morning. The call for the bandh is given jointly by the North Cachar Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum and North Cachar Hills Indigenous Women Forum in protest against the bomb blast on Silchar bound Barak Valley Express Passenger train near Haflong rail station on Wednesday by the suspected extremists in which at least ten passengers were injured.
