In Utter Pradesh twenty four people, including five women and 14 children, were detained at Maharajganj while they were trying to enter India through the Nepal border. Police today said that a group of 24 persons were stopped by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and local police for checking yesterday when they failed to produce valid documents about their identity. During interrogation,the detained persons claimed that they had several years ago crossed over to Pakistan and got married and settled there. Now they were trying to return home. The local police is verifying their credentials.
