Islamic State group fighters killed at least 232 people in and around Mosul last week as Iraqi troops advanced on the city, the United Nations Human Rights Watch office said today.<br/><br/>UN rights office spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani told reporters in Geneva that 232 civilians were reportedly shot to<br/>death last Wednesday, out of which 190 were former Iraqi Security Forces officers. She also stressed that the number of people killed in recent days could be even higher.
