Indian athletes continued their spectacular performance in the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships held at Kalinga stadium in Odisha capital Bhubaneswar with the host nation moving on to the top with 20 medals. On the third day of the athletics meet yesterday, Odia star athletes Dutee Chand and Srabani Nanda along with other two sprinters Merlin Joseph and Himashree Roy of the 4-member team completed the 4x100m relay event finals in 44.57 seconds securing bronze medals. The Indian athletes added five more medals yesterday taking its tally to 20 including 7 gold. Medals table is followed by China who have 15 medals with five gold and Iran at the third slot in the list with four gold and a single bronze.Today is the closing day of the Asian Athletics meet and the host country is just three medals away of surpassing all-time record. India had bagged 22 medals in 1985 and 1989 at Jakarta and New Delhi Asian Athletics Championships.
