In West Bengal, 220 crore rupees will be spent on the State Assembly Election. According to an estimate of the Election Commission, most of the expenditure will be incurred on transport and other publicity materials. The Director General of the Expenditure Monitoring Committee, Mr. P.K Dass is arriving in Kolkata on Wednesday to monitor the election expenditure in the State. Mr. Dass will initially interact with the Nodal Officers and other related officers of different districts.Meanwhile, additional Chief Election Officer, Mr. Nikhil Kumar Sahana has said that 2 hundred and 28 ill- legal weapons have been seized till the 15th of this month. Non- bailable warrants have been issued against almost 5 thousand individuals.
