President Pranab Mukherjee conferred the 'Certificate of honour' to 22 scholars of Sanskrit, Persian, Pali and Arabic yesterday. The awards, which are given away on the Independence Day, were bestowed on 16 Sanskrit scholars including one in the international category, two Arabic scholars, three Persian scholar and one Pali scholar. <br/><br/>An official release said, the distinction is given in recognition of substantial contribution of scholars in the field of Sanskrit, Persian, Arabic and Pali or Prakrit. In addition, the President gave away 'Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman' to eight young scholars in Sanskrit, Persian, Arabic and Pali.
