22 opposition parties call upon Centre to declare Cyclone Amphan as national calamity

<span style="color: #222222;">Opposition leaders from 22 parties met today through video conferencing and extended their support to the government and people of West Bengal and Odisha. The two states faced the extremely severe cyclone Amphan on Wednesday. </span><br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The resolution passed by the opposition parties conveyed condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives. Opposition Parties also demanded that the natural disaster may be declared as national calamity and the states should be extended full support in facing the impact of Cyclone Amphan.</span><br />''<br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The meeting which was chaired by Congress president Sonia Gandhi was attended by former Prime Minister H D Devegowda, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Bengal's Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, DMK Chief M L Stalin and CPM leader Sita Ram Yechury among others.</span><br />''
