Twenty two new Passport Kendras are being set up in a couple of months for speedy issuance of passports to people. Government sources said in New Delhi that 55 such Kendras which operate on public-private partnership basis have already been set up. Apart from this, another 15 mini-seva kendras are being established for issuing passports. Government is also contemplating to extend the benefit of visa on arrival facility to the citizens of more countries. About 5.8 million passports have been issued to the people of the country and another one million people living abroad were extended similar facility. Sources said, there is no special screening for any country.
