The 21st Kolkata International Film Festival begins today. Bollywood legends Amitabh Bacchan, Jaya Bacchan and Sharmila Tagore will be present at the inauguration of the festival. South India's Superstar Rajnikant is also expected to attend the opening ceremony. AIR correspondent reports that 149 films of 137 Directors from 61 countries will be screened in nine-day long extravaganza covering 12 venues of the city. Out of 15 segments, two new series 'Films on Sports' and 'India Unheard' films on different Indian languages have been introduced this year. Royal Bengal Trophy will be awarded to the best film and best director among the competition focuses on films directed by women. Actor Rahul Bose will deliver Satyajit Ray Memorial lecture.
