21st International Kite Festival is being celebrated in Gujarat. Governor of Gujarat Dr. Kamala has formally inaugurated the festival at Sabarmati River Front in Ahmedabad, which is also being held at Dhordo and Mandavi in Kutch for next two days. Addressing the opening ceremony, Chief Minister Narendra Modi sought the help of young designers for making new type of kites- the boost the kite flying business-which employed large number of poor in the state. AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that international kite festival is also aimed to boost the tourism industry in the state by attracting foreign kite flyers.
