In Assam, 21 Legislators of the 126-member State Legislative Assembly today took oath as Parliamentary Secretaries. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed Parliamentary Secretaries at a swearing-in function held at Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati today. The Parliamentary Secretaries have been given the rank of Cabinet Ministers. The portfolios of the Parliament Secretaries will be allocated soon. Among the Parliamentary Secretaries sworn-in, 19 are from the Congress and two from the ruling coalition partner-Bodoland Peoples Front. The Tarun Gogoi-led Ministry has altogether 19 Ministers, 15 of them are of Cabinet rank and four Ministers of State with independent charge.
