The 20th International Children's Film Festival got off to a colourful start in Hyderabad last evening with children from various schools presenting impressive cultural performances. <br/><br/>The festival was declared open by unveiling the logo created by children using unique technique of splashing colours on a canvas. Children's Film Society of India and the Telangana government are jointly hosting the week-long festival that is being organised in Hyderabad for the second time after the formation of the state. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that Hyderabad has become a hub of exciting activities connecting to film making, story telling, learning screenplay beside others during the week long Golden Elephant Festival. The child delegates who came from all over the world and also from various states in the country have witnessed the spectacular show of cultural extravaganza when the festival took off last evening. <br/><br/>Besides screening over 300 films brought here from nook and corner of the world, in about 30 theatres across Telangana state, the children will be given an opportunity and also exposure to film making and story writing through work shops, seminars, interactions with film directors and artists. Beside award winning films, children have this time wide choice of films in various categories. <br/><br/>About 170 films are competing for Golden Elephant in Little Director's category. The city of pearls will be bubbling with enthusiasm and activities for the next week during the International Children's Film Festival -ICFFI with the main theme being New India. This time the State authorities have made elaborate arrangements at district head quarters to make more and more children to take part in the joyous festivities.
