In Punjab, State Election Office has received 2020 complaints for violation of Model Code of Conduct, out of which 1140 have been resolved.Special Chief Electoral Officer, Mrs. Usha R. Sharma told media persons in Chandigarh that 35 to 40 transfers have been ordered so far after the start of election process. Three officers have been transferred today after receiving complaints against them.Special teams have seized 26 crore 12 lakh rupees unaccounted money in the state. More than one lakh mililiters of illicit liquor and same number of country wine bottles have also been seized besides large quantity of drugs.After the announcements of elections, 8648 non bailable warrants have been executed in the state and more than one lakh 89 thousand weapons have been deposited in the police stations.The Election Office has made special arrangements for blind voters to cast their votes. More than nine thousand blind voters are there in the state. Election officials will provide voter slips to voters at their homes.To build confidence among the voters, security forces took out flag march today in the constituencies of Patiala district.
