After a 64 year wait India finally beat Myanmar 1-0 today in their home turf to begin their Group A campaign to qualify for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. Sunil Chhetri who led the team, scored the winning goal using a pass from Udanta Singh at the half way line.The last time the two sides met, also in Yangon in 2013 and India lost by a solitary goal in the AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers.Today's victory however, poses a big challenge for Stephen Constantine's men. It could mean a big boost in the things to come but it is too early to say that. India are currently on a strong run of form with nine won and two lost in the last 11 encounters since 2015.India have also been boosted by a 3-2 victory over Cambodia in their first international friendly of the year last week.
