UNICEF has said, last year was the worst for Syrian children. In a report released two days before the sixth anniversary of the uprising that escalated into a civil war, United Nations' child relief agency said, at least 652 children were killed in Syria in 2016, making it the worst year yet for the country's rising generation. The report said 1.7 million youngsters are out of school and one of every three schools in Syria is unusable.<br/><br/>UNICEF's Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Geert Cappelaere said in Homs that millions of children come under attack on a daily basis and six million are now relying on humanitarian aid. The report said coping mechanisms and medical care are eroding quickly in Syria, driving children into child labor, early marriage and dozens are dying from preventable diseases.
