Delhi High Court today stayed Election Commission's show cause notice to former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan as to why he should not be disqualified for not giving correct details of his 2009 poll expenses.
The Court also issued notice to BJP leaders Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Kirit Somaiya and one independent candidate who had filed complaint against Mr Chavan in the Election Commission.
Earlier, Chavan was given a 20-day deadline on 13th of this month to respond to a show cause notice of the poll panel which has held that he had failed to lodge his account of election expenses in the manner required by the Representation of the People Act.
