2002-03 Mumbai blasts: Court sentences 10 convicts; Three get life term

A special POTA court today pronounced quantum of punishment for ten convicts in multiple blasts in Mumbai between 2002 and 2003. Special Judge P R Deshmukh pronounced this verdict today. Court awarded life imprisonment to three. Four were awarded 10 years imprisonment. Another three got 2 years' imprisonment each. On March 29, the court had held guilty ten out of the thirteen accused in the case.<br/><br/>Twelve people were killed in a blast that occurred in a suburban train near Mulund station in March 2003. On December 6, 2002, many people were injured in a blast at McDonald's opposite Mumbai Central station, while a person had died in a blast that took place in Vile Parle market on January 27, 2003.
