200 pro-Telangana protesters arrested in New Delhi

The police on Monday arrested over 200 pro-Telangana protesters in New Delhi. Hundreds of Telangana lawyers hoodwinked the Delhi Police personnel and broke security cordons to reach close to Parliament. While lawyers from various Bar Associations in all the 10 districts of the Telangana region held a protest march at Jantar Mantar, small groups of lawyers removing their black coats silently walked towards Parliament. Demanding statehood for the region, the lawyers ran towards Parliament but were prevented by security personnel. The protestors were demanding a Bill for separate Telengana state in the current session of Parliament.
