200 beded 2 new maternity hospitals under NRHM in J&K

Two new 200 beded maternity hospitals are being opened in Jammu and Kashmir. They will be operating in Srinagar and Jammu. <br/><br/>Briefing mediapersons after the steering committee meeting of the National Rural Health Mission, NRHM, in New Delhi today, Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that government will provide 50 crore rupees for each and hospital over and above the budjet provided NRHM. <br/><br/>He said that the meeting also decided to provide sanitary napkins to adolescent girls in 150 backward districts of the country. This will help in their better health care.He added that 150 crore rupees have been earmarked for thie scheme and it will be implemented by Aasha workers. <br/><br/>He said, 80 per cent subsidy will be provided to the Below Poverty Line, BPL girls for purchasing the napkins. Mr Azad added that a male worker in every back ward district will be appointed for effective implmentation of the health schemes in the rural areas.
