200 athletes to participate in Special Olympics World Summer Games

A contingent of 200 physically and partially mentally challenged athletes will represent India at the Special Olympics World Summer Games at Athens in Greece. The ten-day event begins on the 25th of next month. The team will take part in 12 disciplines including badminton, cycling, athletics, aquatics, basketball, football, roller skating, table tennis, handball and volleyball. The Chairman of the Special Olympics Bharat (SOB), Air Marshal (Retd) Denzil Keelor, said this in Jamshedpur today. He said that it could be the largest ever team taking part in the games from India.
