The Madhya Pradesh Police have detained 20 people in connection with the gangrape of a Swiss woman in Datia district on Friday night. Police said, the detained persons are being questioned. A rape case has been registered in this connection.

The Swiss female tourist on a cycling trip with her husband was gangraped by seven to eight people at Jharia village, 8 km from Datia town. The incident took place when the 39-year-old woman along with her husband was touring the region on a bicycle as part of their India tour.

The Swiss Embassy in New Delhi has called for swift investigation into the incident so that the victim gets justice.
