At least one policeman was killed today in an ongoing encounter with the naxalites in Chhattisgarh. According to police sources, the encounter with the naxalites started this morning near Mankeli under Bijapur district and it was still going on when reports last came in. It may be recalled that two CRPF jawans were killed in a landmine blast by the Naxalites yesterday near Basaguda under the Bijapur district itself. On the other hand, police had also killed 9 naxalites near Jagargunda under the Dantewada district yesterday.
