20% L1 posts reserved for those who have successfully completed apprenticeship, clarified Southern Railway

<span style="color: #222222;">The Southern Railway has clarified that as per an amendment made in 2016, 20% of posts at Level 1 have been reserved for those who have successfully completed their apprenticeship.<br />''<br />''However it has also been made clear that employment in Railways is not guaranteed on completion of apprenticeship.<br />''<br />''The clarification came against the background of demands for employment made by those who have completed apprenticeships in various Railway institutions and workshops.<br />''<br />''The Railways have also clarified that the recruitment tests were conducted in 15 languages which includes Tamil also. They have also<br />''<br />''pointed out that there are no reservations in any Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)selections  based on the origin of state or state of residence.<br />''<br />''It has also been pointed out that  in the notifications issued during the last few years about 2.2 lakh candidates from Tamilnadu had opted for RRB,Bengaluru which caters to South Western Railway.<br />''<br />''The Southern Railway has also pointed out that applications for 597 posts of technicians were called by Railways in their advertisement number 2/18. 3627 applications were received , out of which 2839 cleared the exams. Of these 272 were shortlisted for physical tests and finally 54 were selected.</span><br />
