In Pakistan, at least 21 people, including some foreign nationals, were feared killed when a small aircraft crashed in the port city of Karachi today. Quoting Civil Aviation Authority officials TV news channels reported that the Beechcraft 1900C aircraft of JS Air, which had been chartered to ferry employees of a US oil company, had 19 passengers and two crew members on board . Immediately after the twin-engine turboprop aircraft took off from Karachi aircraft at 7.15 am, the pilot informed the control tower that one of the engines had failed. The pilot was advised to turn back and land. However, the aircraft crashed into a plot of land near the airport that is controlled by the Pakistan Army's aviation wing and burst into flames. Army personnel cordoned off the area and launched a rescue operation after dousing the flames.
