20 Dubai people to participate in ‘Discover Kerala’

<br/>The World Malayalee Council’s (WMC) Dubai province branch is organising a ‘Discover Kerala’ initiative, under which a group of 20 UAE nationals will be flown down to explore Kerala’s backwater tourism, eco-tourism, and the art forms, culture and traditions including Ayurvedic treatment methods. <br/>According to WMC Dubai’s publicity and media convener, the initiative aims to familiarise the chosen delegates, including Government officials and prominent community members of UAE to know more about Kerala and its rich cultural heritage. The initiative was announced as part of the seventh anniversary celebrations of WMC Dubai held yesterday where the organisation honoured various prominent Malayalees. A project to support distressed Indians in the UAE was also launched at the event. In addition, the association also announced the sponsorship for the education of 1,000 students from villages in Kerala for a year and it would support an awareness campaign against pollution of rivers in the state. <br/>
